Close to 11,500 acres of land and river teaming with wildlife draw the visitor to this state park. Four scenic nature trails and a bicycle trail provide rare opportunities to glimpse endangered and unique animals like the bald eagle, Florida sandhill crane, and gopher tortoise.

The Loxahatachee River winds its way through the park, passing under a canopy of cypress trees. The park has boat rides, canoeing, picnic areas, campgrounds, and fresh water fishing.

This unique environment is home to a nature center, boardwalk through wetlands, and interpretive displays. Visitation is by appointment only. Tours and environmental education opportunities may be arranged by calling the number above.

Beaches & Municipal Parks

JUNO BEACH

JUNO BEACH PARK:

14775 State Rd. AlA.

300-foot guarded beach, showers and picnic shelters.

LOGGERHEAD PARK:

State Rd. AIA.

Developed oceanfront (900 feet), nature trail, picnic area, bike path, four tennis courts and children's play area. Marinelife Center/627-8280, sponsors group sea turtle watches in its season and a sea life education center.

JUPITER

CARLIN PARK:

State Rd. AlA.

Developed oceanfront area with 3,000 feet of rocky beach and hiking trails. Open sunrise to sunset. BBQ grills and covered tables, with fresh water available. Get there early to get a table!

JUPITER BEACH PARK:

Beach Dr. South of Jupiter Inlet

Developed oceanfront beach (1,700 feet) with a fishing jetty and lifeguards. New enlarged fishing pier to open fall/winter of 1997!

DUBOIS PARK: Dubois Rd., S.R. AlA.

Developed beach (29 acres) with lifeguards on weekends and holidays only during winter months, Dubois House Museum.

BURT REYNOLDS PARK:

U.S. 1 North.

Rocky beach surrounded by the Intracoastal waterway; boat slips, boat launching ramps, picnic shelters, Loxahatchee Historical Museum.

LAKE PARK

KELSEY PARK:

U.S. Hwy. I at Park Ave.

A 6.5-acre park featuring a children's area and tennis courts, shuffleboard lanes, shelters and a bandstand.

LAKE PARK BALL PARK:

6th and Bayberry Street.

On 5.5 acres, features four ball fields with lights.

LAKE PARK TOWN HALL PLAYGROUND:

Park Avenue and 5th Street.

One-acre playground featuring equipment, benches and restrooms.

NORTH PALM BEACH

ANCHORAGE PARK VILLAGE MARINA:

West Anchorage Dr.

10 acres provides a baseball diamond, recreation building, club room, wet slips and dry slips, tot lot, volleyball and two tennis courts.

PALM BEACH

PALM BEACH MUNICIPAL BEACH:

State Rd. AIA.

Undeveloped beach, mostly bulkhead. Limited meter parking, no alcohol permitted.

PHIPPS OCEAN PARK:

Ocean Blvd. Developed beach (1,300 feet) with lifeguards. Picnic and recreation areas and plenty of parking. No alcohol permitted.

RICHARD G. KREIISLER PARK:

State Rd. AlA. Developed beach (450 feet) with lifeguards.

TEQUESTA

CONSTITUTION PARK:

Plans include a heart trail with exercise stations, volleyball, basketball, racquetball, gazebo and playground for children.

CORAL COVE PARK:

State Road AIA on Jupiter Island.

Developed oceanfront beach (600 ft.) with rock formations and 600 feet of Intracoastal waterway frontage. Lifeguard on duty.

TEQUESTA PARK:

A 45-acre community park featuring softball, baseball, tennis, soccer, and other active recreational pursuits. (Martin County on the Palm Beach County Line.)
